I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and that your transition back to Mason has gone smoothly. On behalf of the new Golden Key executive board, we would like to welcome all of you back to Mason for another exciting year!
As members of Golden Key International Honour Society, you all have been chosen due to your outstanding record of academic achievement at the collegiate level. Our hope is that you'll take part in the many opportunities our organization provides for you to continue mastering your leadership skills while also serving your community. We would like to extend a special invitation for you to join us in the following events that we've put together for you this semester. (See event list below)

Fall 2009 Events
GK members can earn their graduation cords by accruing GK Hours. This credit can be earned each time you sign in at a GK event or you wear your GK t-shirt (see below). Once you accrue 20 GK hours, you will be awarded with your graduation cords!
September 15 Membership mtg; pizza party

September 16 GK T-shirt day; purchase and sign in at SUB I, room 302
(On GK t-shirt days, you can earn 1 GK hour for wearing your GK t-shirt! These t-shirts can be purchased for $8 in SUB I, room 302. Only exact cash or check can be accepted. You also earn 1 GK hour for purchasing your shirt.
Sept. 28-Oct. 2 GK will be sponsoring the fall
academic integrity week!
You can earn 1 GK hour for volunteering to do "sidewalk chalk art" promoting our event. Thanks to everyone who volunteered! Check out our GK advertisement on the 'cube'!

Golden Key is one of the sponsors for the AIDS Walk in DC. Golden Key will pay the $15 registration fee for the FIRST 10 members who first contact Dean Fox (dfox1@gmu.edu) for PRIOR permission to sign up as a GK member.
October 6 Training Honor Committee
Would you like to serve as a judge on the Honor Committee? If so, the next info/training session will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 7 pm. They can only accept a limited number of new members.

Now until Dec 1 Box Top$ for Education
Golden Key is collecting Box Top$ for Education labels until December 1, 2009. Go ahead and treat yourself to some Betty Crocker cookies, Cheerios, Nature Valley, or other Box Top$ for Education products. Cut out the Box Top label and turn it into SUB I, room 302! You'll receive 1 point for every three Box Top$ you turn in by December 1st. Visit boxtops4education.com for a complete list of eligible products.

REGIONAL CONFERENCE IN RICHMOND VIRGINIA
In late February 2009, Blake Silver, Nader Hussein, Meg Patrick, and Katie Beck attended the three-day regional leadership conference in Richmond. They brought back a wealth of information to share with our members!
In April, the GK officers reserved a kiosk in the JC in order to sell some of the graduation products such as cords, sashes, and medallions.
